Just a few kilometers away you will find the slopes of the Civetta ski area: 80 km slopes with the best snow conditions connect the villages of Alleghe, Selva di Cadore, Zoldo and Palafavera in exciting ups and downs. Furthermore the 62 km Arabba-Marmolada slopes, from which you can start the Sellaronda and the First World War Ski Tours.
They both belong to the Dolomiti Superski, the biggest ski carrousel with 1.200 km and 450 lift facilities connecting 12 ski areas located in Veneto, Trentino and South Tyrol.
Non-skiers can choose among romantic sledge-tours, snowmobile tours, snowshoe walks, cultural visits to the First World War Museum or to the surrounding villages.
Near to the Hotel you will find the Serrai di Sottoguda, a charming 2-km ravine between the villages of Malga Ciapela and Sottoguda, crossed by the foaming Pettorina torrent. In winter this stream freezes creating a landscape which is really worth seeing. Here you can also do ice climbing.
If you spend the summer here, you can choose among easy hikes, walks in nature discovering huts and small mountain lakes. But also climbing: in fact there are many vie ferrate for expert mountaineers, either on the South Face of Marmolada or on the famous Northwest face of the Civetta.
The area is excellent for bikers and cyclists, who have at their disposal complex and difficult itineraries along the stages of the Giro d’Italia, but also easier and safer tours for the whole family.
Water sport lovers can sail or do windsurf, but also canoe, kayak or rent a pedal boat on the lake in Alleghe.
In summer too we recommend you to go for a walk along the Serrai di Sottoguda. You should also visit the workshops where skilled craftsmen create unique masterpiece with wrought iron and wood.
